Team Photography

I can’t count how many times I have heard someone say, “The day just went by so fast and I feel like it is hard to remember everything”. This is why your wedding day photography is one of the single most important investments you can make for your wedding. In this day and age of drive-thrus and one hour photos, customer service as well as custom service is something that is getting harder and harder to find.

Here at mystic shoot the cake, we believe that a custom photography experience is essential in recreating all the occurrences and emotion of your special event. In order to customize your day, we provide a team of photographers for every wedding we photograph. You’re not getting two or three “back-up” photographers just in case. We are a team of artists, each with a distinct style, constantly at the ready. Having a team of photographers allows us to capture all angles and aspects of every situation that we are presented with throughout the day.

Grace Murney

Having grown up in the historic town of Mystic, CT, I have become familiar and intimate with everything from the popular tourist attractions to the lesser known but equally celebrated locales. My mother is a professional harpist and at an early age she taught me to play and, eventually, I even began to accompany her to wedding venues to watch and get a feel for the routine and atmosphere.
Throughout grade school I had a passion for the arts, specifically the human form, which led me to focus on figure drawings in traditional media and portraiture in photography. I applied with a portfolio my senior year of high school to the Savannah College of Art and Design and am currently studying there to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography.
What I love so much about working with people in my photos and portraits is the range of connection the subject makes with the camera. The feel of a photograph changes so much depending on the amount of eye contact and focus that the person whose picture is being taken makes. It can take an image from being personal and close to that of viewing someone in secret, without their knowing.
I believe that the honesty and preciousness of a picture comes from the people in it and the memories they reinforce. This is why I love what I do; I get to reflect that kind of joy through my lens (literally) every time I work with someone.

Rachel DuFour

My passion for photography developed early on. It’s amazing the dreams that can come from a little blue Fisher-Price camera at the age of four. Growing up I was constantly out photographing everything surrounding me. As I got older I began to enjoy photographing people, and events. Today, I can be found on any given day with a camera in hand searching out local beauty.

I have always enjoyed a photojournalists approach to weddings, catching true emotion of the moment has always thrilled me. I also enjoy many aspects of traditional wedding photography. When photographing a wedding, my objective is to capture the full beauty of the event the way the bride and groom have dreamed it will be.

Caitlin Fitzgibbons

Caitlin Fitzgibbons blogEveryone knows that second.

That split instant, when a laugh, a grin, a look, reveals everything, and the rest of the world fades to gray in comparison.

That’s the second I look for. That one, that minuscule, tiny insignificant fleck in time, that will, that does, make all the difference in the world to the people who know. The ones who know that smile is just for them, who know that when he’s really smiling, his right eye squints, or when she’s really happy, her nose crinkles almost imperceptibly. These are the things that make us individuals, and these are the things that carry across pixels and megabytes and digital files to become a representation of what makes us, us.

we all know that second, and my aim is to show you.
